Report on Arbitration Symposium – Saturday, April 05, 2014

The Arbitration Symposium: National and international Perspectives was held on Saturday, April 05, 2014. The symposium was inaugurated by Mr. Justice S. C. Gupte, Judge of the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay. The panelist included Mr. Braphus Kaalund, Deputy Consul for Political Affairs, United States Consulate in Mumbai, Mr. Ajit Joshi, CEO and MD of Infiniti Retail which runs Croma, Advocate Dr. Birendra Saraf who is a specialist on Arbitration, Solicitor Kamlesh Karade who is the partner of India Law Alliance, Advocate Samir Tapia, Partner of ALMT Legal, Advocate Renu Parekh and Advocate Antony Alex who is the CEO of Rainmaker.

Mr. Braphus Kaalund who is also an Attorney specializing in International Arbitration and Trade Laws explained the importance of Arbitration in international trade and its operations in the United States. Dr. Birendra Saraf detailed the Arbitration and its operations in the Indian context. Justice Gupte highlighted the difficulties that arise in arbitration especially in Mumbai.

The Symposium was organized in association with the Consulate General of the United States and was supported by ALMT legal, India Law Alliance and many other law firms. The Symposium ended with lunch to all participants.
